Lead your retail business to success!
Retail Manager is a company simulation, in which participants manage a trading company and in the process get exposed to fundamental economic principles in a very vivid and playful manner.
The Retail Manager simulation is played in teams of 3 to 5 participants. Participants manage a trading company over 2 game sequences. They deal with tasks such as handling material procurement, delegating staff, launching marketing campaigns and dealing with suppliers and banks.
At the end of every fiscal year, a financial statement of accounts is prepared comprising of the Profit and Loss account and the Balance Sheet. Besides this they determine key economic indicators which provide an insight to the performance and profitability of the trading company. On preparing the above mentioned accounts and determining key indicators, participants are given the opportunity to define and implement measures and strategies to lead the company to success. Based on the measures implemented and their impact on results, participants understand company coherences as well Revenue-Costs-Profit relationships.
After the simulation, the participants will be able to answer the following questions:
- What is Depreciation and how is it determined?
- What is an Annual Report?
- What are the important economic indicators and how can I put them to work in my company?
- What is Cash-flow and what does it imply?
